The New England-St. Lawrence Valley Geographical Society (NESTVAL)
NESTVAL was established as the nation’s first regional professional geography organization. Beginning with the New England Geographical Conference at Clark University in 1922, this organization supports regional geographers and promotes geography education and research.
The New England-St. Lawrence Valley Geographical Society contributes to the advancement of geography by holding a fall annual conference, publishing a peer-review professional journal, The Northeastern Geographer, and recognizing and supporting geography professionals and students through awards and annual activities.
The New England-St. Lawrence Valley Geographical Society is a regional division of the Association of American Geographers.
