The New England-St. Lawrence Valley Geographical Society presents two awards to professionals within the field of geography.
- The NESTVAL Distinguished Service Award is given to professional geographers that have made significant contributions to NESTVAL and geography during their careers.
- The Friend of Geography Award is given by the host institution for NESTVAL’s annual conference, and is often given to K-12 geography teachers.
The New England-St. Lawrence Valley Geographical Society offer two grant awards to professionals within the field of geography.
- The $750 Faculty Research Award for geographic or geospatial science-based research performed by faculty who are full-time members of a geography or geospatial science program within a four-year college or university in the NESTVAL region.
- The $500 Master’s Student Research Award for Master’s candidates of any geographic specialty attending a graduate program of
geography or geospatial science in the NESTVAL region.
In addition to these awards, an individual student paper and poster competition and World Geography Bowl competition between schools, takes place at NESTVAL’s annual meeting.
